Cannabis plants are either male or female. Only female plants produce the buds (flowers) you're growing for. Feminized seeds are bred to produce female plants almost exclusively, so you're not wasting space, time, or resources on males that need to be removed. All of the seeds we sell are feminized.
Photoperiod varieties flower in response to a change in light schedule. Indoors, you trigger flowering by switching to a 12-hours-on/12-hours-off schedule. They typically take longer to finish but give more control over plant size and yield.
Autoflower varieties flower automatically based on age, usually finishing 9-12 weeks from seed regardless of light schedule. Since Colorado requires indoor-only cultivation, both types work equally well year-round. Autoflowers are popular for faster harvests and continuous cycling across your plant count. Not sure which is right for you? See our Strain Selection Guide.

CBD (cannabidiol) and CBG (cannabigerol) are non-psychoactive compounds found naturally in the cannabis plant. People commonly report CBD as calming and supportive for sleep, stress, and everyday discomfort. CBG is often described as more clarifying, associated with focus and a lighter sense of ease. Both are widely used as alternatives to pharmaceutical options for mild anxiety, inflammation, and pain.
Many growers find that blending CBD or CBG varieties with THC varieties produces a more balanced experience. Growing your own gives you direct control over what goes into your plants. Check out our Strain Selection Guide to explore our hemp varieties.

Colorado allows up to six plants per adult, with a household maximum of twelve regardless of how many adults live there. Of your six plants, no more than three can be flowering at any one time. Plants in vegetative growth, clone stage, or seedling stage do not count against the three-flowering limit. Clones or cuttings under four inches in any direction do not count toward your plant total at all. No permit or plant tagging is required. Read the full Colorado home grow law breakdown for details.
No. Colorado state law requires all home cultivation to take place indoors in a locked, enclosed space. Outdoor growing is not permitted even in a fully private, fenced backyard. This is one of the most notable rules for Colorado home growers — indoor is not just the recommended approach, it's the only legal one. See our Colorado home grow laws guide for the full breakdown.
No state permit is required, but some municipalities add local requirements. Colorado Springs requires written property owner consent, square footage limits, and odor mitigation systems. Denver caps household grows at twelve plants even for three or more adults. Check your local ordinances before setting up a grow. Landlords can prohibit cultivation in lease agreements — review your lease first. Read the full Colorado home grow law breakdown for complete details.
Since Colorado requires indoor cultivation, your setup is entirely under your control regardless of season. Colorado's low-humidity climate actually makes indoor humidity management easier than in many other states — mold and mildew pressure is minimal with basic ventilation. With a three-flowering-plant limit, high-yielding varieties that perform well under training techniques like LST or SCROG can help you maximize output per plant. Both photoperiod and autoflower varieties work well indoors year-round. Browse our Strain Selection Guide for recommendations matched to your setup.
At minimum you need a locked, enclosed space that is not openly viewable — a locked grow tent in a locked room, or a dedicated locked room with a lock, both satisfy the requirement. If minors live in your home, the grow area must be in a separate locked space they cannot access. Some municipalities like Colorado Springs add odor mitigation requirements, so check your local rules before building out your space. See our germination guide for step-by-step starting instructions once your space is ready.
