Cultivation Notes:
OG Kush flowers in 55 to 65 days and reaches 39 to 47 inches indoors and 59 to 79 inches outdoors. Indoor yields run 1.9 to 2.2 oz/sq ft, while outdoor plants can produce 3 to 4+ lbs per plant at harvest in the third or fourth week of September. The structure is compact and Indica-typical with dense bud development and strong resin output through the final weeks of flower. It responds well to topping and open canopy management to improve airflow and light penetration through the naturally thick growth pattern.
Additional Info:
Growers commonly associate OG Kush with a relaxed, happy, and sociable character that reflects its deep Indica foundation with a cerebral edge from the Lemon Thai and Chemdawg influence. The flavor carries sour, citrus, herbal, and woody pine notes that are consistent with the terpene profile the OG Kush name has been associated with for decades. At 26% T#C it delivers solid potency alongside that well-documented aroma. The genetics are widely regarded as foundational to modern cannabis breeding, appearing in the lineage of many of the most popular strains developed over the past 20 years.
This seed was developed by a trusted member of the Triangle Seeds Breeder Network, ensuring top-tier quality and genetic integrity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is OG Kush a Sativa, Indica, or Hybrid?
Indica
Is OG Kush an Autoflower or Photoperiod strain?
OG Kush is a Photoperiod strain. Photoperiod varieties flower when the light schedule changes (typically 12 hours on / 12 hours off). They take longer than autoflowers but give you more control over plant size and yield. Autoflower varieties flower automatically based on age, usually finishing 9 to 12 weeks from seed — no light timing required.
How long does it take OG Kush to grow?
Photoperiod strains give you more control over timing, but they take longer overall — typically 3 to 5 months from seed to harvest. You'll spend 4 to 8 weeks in vegetative growth (where you control how big the plant gets), then switch to a 12/12 light schedule to trigger flowering, which takes another 7 to 10 weeks depending on the strain. Indoor growers have full control over when to flip, while outdoor harvests generally land between late September and mid-October. Check the strain details above for specific flowering time estimates, and visit our growing guide for a full walkthrough.

How do I germinate OG Kush seeds?
We recommend the paper towel method for the most reliable results. Start with a 24-hour soak in a hydrogen peroxide solution (1 part 3% H2O2 to 6 parts water) to boost germination rates. After soaking, place your seeds between two damp paper towels inside a container or plastic bag, and keep them in a warm spot (around 75 to 80°F). Most seeds crack open within 24 to 72 hours. Once a taproot appears, transfer the seed gently into your growing medium about a quarter-inch deep. For a full walkthrough, check out our germination guide.
