Cultivation Notes
Skunk #1 typically finishes in about 9 to 11 weeks (65 to 75 days), developing a robust, symmetrical structure with a sturdy central stem and well-spaced lateral branches that stack chunky, resin-coated colas. Indoors it stands around 4 to 5 feet (47 to 59 inches) and can produce roughly 46 grams per sq ft, while outdoor plants grow taller, reaching about 5 to 6.5 feet (59 to 79 inches) and yielding up to 28 ounces per plant in warm, stable conditions, with harvests ready in the third to fourth week of October. Because the buds finish large and dense, plan on stakes or a trellis to support the heavy colas, and keep airflow moving to prevent mold. This cultivar responds well to topping, LST, and ScrOG to open the canopy and push light to the lower budding sites.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Skunk #1 a Sativa, Indica, or Hybrid?
Indica Dominant Hybrid
Is Skunk #1 an Autoflower or Photoperiod strain?
Skunk #1 is a Photoperiod strain. Photoperiod varieties flower when the light schedule changes (typically 12 hours on / 12 hours off). They take longer than autoflowers but give you more control over plant size and yield. Autoflower varieties flower automatically based on age, usually finishing 9 to 12 weeks from seed — no light timing required.
How long does it take Skunk #1 to grow?
Photoperiod strains give you more control over timing, but they take longer overall — typically 3 to 5 months from seed to harvest. You'll spend 4 to 8 weeks in vegetative growth (where you control how big the plant gets), then switch to a 12/12 light schedule to trigger flowering, which takes another 7 to 10 weeks depending on the strain. Indoor growers have full control over when to flip, while outdoor harvests generally land between late September and mid-October. Check the strain details above for specific flowering time estimates, and visit our growing guide for a full walkthrough.

How do I germinate Skunk #1 seeds?
We recommend the paper towel method for the most reliable results. Start with a 24-hour soak in a hydrogen peroxide solution (1 part 3% H2O2 to 6 parts water) to boost germination rates. After soaking, place your seeds between two damp paper towels inside a container or plastic bag, and keep them in a warm spot (around 75 to 80°F). Most seeds crack open within 24 to 72 hours. Once a taproot appears, transfer the seed gently into your growing medium about a quarter-inch deep. For a full walkthrough, check out our germination guide.
