Cultivation Notes
Plantain Punch flowers in 65 to 70 days indoors, staying moderate in height at roughly 47 to 59 inches, with indoor yields around 2 oz/ft² under good light. Outdoors it stretches taller, finishing between 59 and 79 inches and producing up to about 53 ounces per plant (roughly 3.3 pounds) when well maintained, with outdoor harvest landing in the second to third week of October. The plant carries significant internodal spacing and strong branch structure, which makes it a good candidate for training and multiple canopy-management approaches. Buds finish dense and resin-heavy, so keeping steady airflow through the canopy is worth prioritizing as they pack on weight late in flower.
Additional Info
Growers commonly associate Plantain Punch with an easygoing relaxation that comes on without heavy sedation, alongside a clear-headed focus that keeps it versatile through the day. The flavor leads with grapefruit and bright citrus, rounded out by smooth banana notes pulled from its Banana OG side, while the aroma leans lemon, spice, and cherry. It tests in the 30 to 32% THCa range, which speaks to its potency though not on its own to quality. Sold as feminized seed, it delivers the dense structure, strong resin production, and layered terpene profile that its RS11 and Banana OG lineage would suggest.

Hybrid
Is Plantain Punch an Autoflower or Photoperiod strain?
Plantain Punch is a Photoperiod strain. Photoperiod varieties flower when the light schedule changes (typically 12 hours on / 12 hours off). They take longer than autoflowers but give you more control over plant size and yield. Autoflower varieties flower automatically based on age, usually finishing 9 to 12 weeks from seed — no light timing required.
How long does it take Plantain Punch to grow?
Photoperiod strains give you more control over timing, but they take longer overall — typically 3 to 5 months from seed to harvest. You'll spend 4 to 8 weeks in vegetative growth (where you control how big the plant gets), then switch to a 12/12 light schedule to trigger flowering, which takes another 7 to 10 weeks depending on the strain. Indoor growers have full control over when to flip, while outdoor harvests generally land between late September and mid-October. How do I germinate Plantain Punch seeds?
We recommend the paper towel method for the most reliable results. Start with a 24-hour soak in a hydrogen peroxide solution (1 part 3% H2O2 to 6 parts water) to boost germination rates. After soaking, place your seeds between two damp paper towels inside a container or plastic bag, and keep them in a warm spot (around 75 to 80°F). Most seeds crack open within 24 to 72 hours. Once a taproot appears, transfer the seed gently into your growing medium about a quarter-inch deep. For a full walkthrough, check out our germination guide.
