Cultivation Notes
Papalope ripens around 56 to 58 days into flower. It is very drought resistant and needs minimal nutrients, which makes it forgiving if you miss a watering or tend to overfeed. The plants don’t stretch much, so topping isn’t recommended. Let them grow naturally and keep the canopy open for airflow. That compact habit also makes Papalope a good fit for tents with limited height.
Additional Info
Chocolope brings the candy side of the profile, and Granddaddy Purple brings the color and the dense, indica structure. Growers commonly associate Papalope with a calm, sedative character that many save for the evening. The gassy, candy profile carries through after the cure, and Papalope makes excellent rosin if you press your own.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Papalope a Sativa, Indica, or Hybrid?
Indica
Is Papalope an Autoflower or Photoperiod strain?
Papalope is a Photoperiod strain. Photoperiod varieties flower when the light schedule changes (typically 12 hours on / 12 hours off). They take longer than autoflowers but give you more control over plant size and yield. Autoflower varieties flower automatically based on age, usually finishing 9 to 12 weeks from seed — no light timing required.
How long does it take Papalope to grow?
Photoperiod strains give you more control over timing, but they take longer overall — typically 3 to 5 months from seed to harvest. You'll spend 4 to 8 weeks in vegetative growth (where you control how big the plant gets), then switch to a 12/12 light schedule to trigger flowering, which takes another 7 to 10 weeks depending on the strain. Indoor growers have full control over when to flip, while outdoor harvests generally land between late September and mid-October. Check the strain details above for specific flowering time estimates, and visit our growing guide for a full walkthrough.

How do I germinate Papalope seeds?
We recommend the paper towel method for the most reliable results. Start with a 24-hour soak in a hydrogen peroxide solution (1 part 3% H2O2 to 6 parts water) to boost germination rates. After soaking, place your seeds between two damp paper towels inside a container or plastic bag, and keep them in a warm spot (around 75 to 80°F). Most seeds crack open within 24 to 72 hours. Once a taproot appears, transfer the seed gently into your growing medium about a quarter-inch deep. For a full walkthrough, check out our germination guide.
